The first level will be home to our Youth Services Department, larger meeting spaces, maker space, café and book sale area, as well as our drive-up service window. Adult and Teen Services, public computers, study and conference rooms will be on the second level.

These rocks have been dropped into the space that will be directly underneath the new library’s main entrance.

On June 29th the underground storage tank (UST) that was discovered earlier in the month was successfully removed. Representatives from the Office of the State Fire Marshall and Roselle Fire Department were on hand to witness the removal the 3,000 gallon heating oil tank. No records of this UST were on file with the EPA, so our best understanding of the history of this tank is that it was installed in the 1950s for the school building that was on the property originally, and was subsequently decommissioned some years or decades later.

In the next few weeks we will see foundation work continue as site utilities are installed and masonry mobilization begins, starting with the elevator and stairs.
