Notary Public service is usually available at the Adult & Teen Services Reference Desk whenever the Library is open. There is no charge for our Notary service. Please contact Library staff before you come in, to confirm that a Notary will be available or to set up an appointment in advance, by email or by phone at 630-529-1641, ext. *211.
The Notary will ask to see a current ID that includes a photo and signature, such as a driver’s license or passport. A Notary witnesses or attests a signature, so please remember not to sign your document in advance.
Virtual Notary Service
The library is able, under limited conditions and by appointment, to provide virtual notary service during the effective period of the Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation in response to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, and as permitted by extension. We will monitor any extensions of this authorization and take appointments accordingly.
To participate in virtual notary service:
- You must be physically present in Illinois
- Have access to a webcam, printer, scanner, and email
- Have valid I.D.
- Be willing to have the transaction recorded on video
We are currently using the Zoom and Skype platforms to perform this service. Appointments can be made by contacting: firstname.lastname@example.org
